Discovering an Alternative to Surgery

“Growing up I was plagued with injuries, including a shoulder injury that I was told required surgery. I’d been to the chiropractor several times and thought of chiropractic as just being for neck and back pain.” When Dr. Darrin informed his family chiropractor that surgery was advised for his torn rotator cuff, the chiropractor said, “No, we are not doing surgery!” Instead, he offered Dr. Darrin an alternative approach to care. Dr. Darrin wondered, however, how chiropractic could help.

It helped immensely! His chiropractor provided therapy, adjustments and acupuncture. “After a few months, I was back at the gym never needing surgery. Chiropractic got me back where I needed to be and then some. That’s the reason I became a chiropractor.”

Addressing Full-body Health

Dr. Darrin attended Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduation, he continued his education in several areas of health. He is a Fellow of the Acupuncture Society of America and certified in clinical orthopedics of the extremities through Dr. Mitch Mally.

Working out is a big part of Dr. Darrin’s life, and he helps many fellow athletes with injuries and performance management. He has the skill set to adjust bigger, more muscular people that other chiropractors may have a difficult time adjusting.

Dr. Darrin sees a large number of athletes in our office. He sees semi-pro football players, professional MMA fighters, national level competition cheerleaders and quite a few competitive body builders. These athletes are serious about their bodies and their ability to perform. They trust Dr. Darrin to keep them in competition shape.
