You can expect to complete a medical history questionnaire and "new patient" paperwork so that Dr. Darrin is fully informed about your medical history and can put together a specific treatment plan for your specific needs. You will then consult with the doctor. This consultation is your opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have pertaining to the matter.
If you’re a good candidate for chiropractic care and we think we can help, an examination follows. We’ll study the way you turn and bend. We may test your reflexes. These and other physical, orthopedic and chiropractic tests help us locate areas of your spine that could be the cause of your problem. Our examination is thorough and will put you at ease.
X-rays or pictures of your spine, especially after trauma, can confirm our other findings and make your care more precise. We can tell if we need them after completing the examination. Discover Chiropractic & Acupuncture offers the latest technology of on-site digital x-ray. Dr. Darrin will study the results and give you a complete report of findings at your second visit. Dr. Darrin will show you what he found and the conclusions he has reached. If Dr. Darrin finds that you’d benefit from consulting a different practitioner, he will make the proper referral. Otherwise, he will recommend a program of specific chiropractic adjustments to fit your specific needs.
Then, depending on the complexity and severity of your case the doctor may give you an adjustment and/or begin physical therapy, if needed. You and Dr. Darrin will have the opportunity to discuss this option. Remember, nothing is done without your consent. Adjustments shouldn't be painful, although you may feel slight discomfort until the pressure in the joint is relieved.
